Hello,
First, thanks for your time and any feedback you can offer. I actually have story that is slightly humorous but one that still has me concerned. To sum everything up, my hair has become very wavy over the last few months (and my hair was straight beforehand) but, instead of being a natural occurrence, I actually think I did this to myself! While my hair was mostly straight overall, there was a section that was wavy. One day, for some reason, I combed that section in a slightly different direction in order to get the wave out. After I did this, other parts of my hair started to get very wavy, looking like a big cow-lick! It doesn’t “blend in” as well as before. I was told that these things happen and it could be due to genetics. Yet, I wonder if it makes a difference if this wasn’t a natural occurrence. It’s also interesting how the waves “curl” in different directions (to describe it, one section curls in a backwards “s” and next to that section it curls in a regular shaped “s”). I tried using a hair dryer and a straightening gel but little results. I’m wondering if there are other methods and whether this can be solved.
Thanks again for any advice you can offer, I appreciate it!

I showered with just shampoo this morning, brushed it, had it in a bun all day at work, no product.

THIS is what I’m trying to achieve:

Should i get it thinned and let it grow more or don’t and just let it grow? I just want it to be a little curly at the ends but not a big poofball. any suggestion with styling/product techniques?
