By HairstyleQuestions.com | September 19, 2007
Question: What is a hair transplant procedure? How much does a hair transplant cost? stylist to give me something different. What should I do to get me on the right path to a great celebrity style?
Answer: There are three major options for hair transplant. The medical process for hair transplant involves the transplanting of hairs and follicles for one area of the head to another. During the hair transplant procedure, hair grafts from donor sights of the patients own head are placed one at a time in the balding or thinning areas.
The most severe and extensive hair transplant procedure is known as a scalp reduction or a skin flap. This procedure involves undergoing extreme surgery by extensively alterating the scalp tissue.
Another form of hair transplant is called plugging or plugs. This technology has not had the natural results patients are looking for because it involves the placing or transplanting of large follicular units into one section.

Finally there is the mini and micro grafts. This procedure much like plugs tends to look unnatural do to
the size of the follicular units.
Hair transplants today however, have come quite a ways since its inception years ago. Organizations and companies dedicated to hair transplant have relentlessly worked to over come most of the hair transplant negative results. Companies like Hair Club for Men or the Bosely group have been around for a long time and have been very successful in satisfying their client’s desires.
They use what they call the Bio- Matrix approach. This strand by strand technique is accomplished by closely examining the spiraling crown area of the head that may be balding or thinning and then adding real human hair in the same direction the hair grows, allowing for a more natural look.
Companies like hair club make this possible by using a method they call the microscopic follicular unit hair transplant. Using a high- powered surgical microscope, they are able to successfully divide the donor strip into its natural hair growth units. This procedure is considered the gold standard in hair transplant technology.
Hair transplants are the only permanent solution to male and female hair loss. Hair transplant surgery when done right can produce results that are so natural that even hair stylist cannot detect them.
Hair transplants cost any where from $20,000 to $90,000 depending on the condition, and take about 2-6 hours to complete.
When considering a procedure such as hair transplant, educate your self as much as possible. Call and ask all the questions that may be of concern to you, ask these facilities to send you brochures and magazines that will further expand your knowledge of their procedures and prices. It is always a good idea to see results from former patients. Ask to read their unbiased opinions whether good or bad on how the experience was for them.

Product Reviews
I’ve had a bit of an uptick in my opinion. It may have been just the planets aligning again, but my hair seems thicker overall, and definitely less gray. Then again, days later it seems thinner. Again, this is really a tough thing to gauge, given so many variables. For now, I’ll keep forging on, but if I don’t see more certain results by the holidays, you’ll see my LaserComb on eBay. It’ll be easy to spot - the one without the CD and with only one set of combs.

For many years leading hair clinics and salons in Europe, Asia and around the world have been using Laser PhotoTherapy — a form of laser technology also referred to as Low Level Laser Therapy — to improve the appearance of thinning hair. Over and over individuals suffering from thin, lifeless hair have achieved great results with this form of therapy, but until just recently Laser PhotoTherapy was only available through exclusive hair clinics.
