First, thank you so much for this website! I’ve just discovered it and

it’s already been A LOT of help.

Question: My question is about hair straightening. I have a new hair cut that is a little

bit longer than the famous Katie Holmes cut. My hair is very, very straight but

tends to curl a little bit at the ends. This has never been much of a problem

as my hair has always been long, but this short new ‘do requires my ends to

be straight. Since my hair is already very straight, would it be worth it to

invest in a straightener? (If so, what do you recommend for people who already

have straight hair?) I haven’t touched a blow dryer in months (it’s

inconvenient to me and loud even for a dorm bathroom in the early morning).

Should I try a wet-to-dry straightener? Or possibly try blow drying?

    Answer: Hi Paige,

Thanks for e-mailing in your question on hair straightening. Sometimes I e-mail my readers with urgency because I know that I can help prevent a mini disaster.Your Idea sounds good but only if you have thick hair and only if you have it done with precise timing.

It might be better to first use the flat iron with tourmaline ceramics plates and see how that worked for you before going chemical.

Remember, Katie Holmes natural hair is wavy almost curls at time.

Unfortunately for us, we don’t have a hair specialist at our beck and call that can fix our hair daily…Maybe one day uh?

Anyway good luck and let us know what happens. I’ll be posting this question and answer on the site hairstylequestions.com this week. You can check out the links to Amazon from here just click on any of the ads.

    Product Reviews

I normally never spend this amount of money on a styling product. But I was tired of the store brands that didn’t perform on my hard-to-manage hair. Based on the many positive reviews of Sedu, I decided to give the new Sedu Revolution Nao a try. Now that my daughter and I have used it for 5 months, I find we cannot live without it! It heats up in less than 30 seconds and it is so easy to use. It transforms my daughter’s long blonde locks into silk. And my shorter coarser curly hair becomes super soft and manageable. It even resists the humidity better. I don’t have any other higher priced brands to compare it to (like CHI), but I’m very happy with the Sedu. My only complaint is that IT DOESN’T HAVE AN AUTOMATIC SHUT OFF. I can’t believe they didn’t incorporate this into their product. So beware, and set a timer or something to remind yourself to turn it off (especially if you are late for work and tend to rush out the door without thinking).
