Question: Hi, I am a salon owner that has been caught in the political controversy. I have to admit that I am not exempt of blame that has initiated the discussions that have become argumentative. I want to get a hold of the political dilemma in my salon, any advice?
Answer: My dear Comrade, you have dipped into a very deep, vicious, and unforgiving pool of S&&#, but all is not lost.
I am sure that the saying “never discuss religion or politics” rings true to you right about now but, I am not going to tell you I told you so because I never did. I am sure however, that you have experienced the reality of that analytical advice at one point or another. You have seen first hand how the subject of politics can get out of hand quickly.
Today is January 27, 2008. Tomorrow is another day. Decide today that your tomorrow will be better smarter and more productive. Unless you are a political analyst or a future candidate running for office, don’t make your political views or opinions public. That old time all wise saying is worth repeating, “Never discuss religion or politics”. Every one has the right to believe how ever they wish, and we as human beings have the right to express our selves any way we want to with out infringing upon any one else’s right to happiness and piece.
Politics and religion seem to invade those personal barriers that we hold so dear. Start today and make a difference. Talk to your coworkers and or employees and indoctrinate them to believe on the side of wisdom. Wise decisions will take you, your client’s and all those around you to a higher quality of life. Keep your opinions to your self. Vent your frustrations else where.
Remember, your place of business is like a holy sanctuary of life; it should be protected, honored and respected. Don’t allow anyone to taint your salons image and avoid endorsing any political or religious subject; you’ll be glad you did…NT.
