Question: Is waxing a good alternative for hair removal on a man? Could you explain the procedure to me in greater detail? Is it really painful?
Answer: Waxing is a painful process for the first timers. As a matter of fact waxing for hair removal purposes can be painful every time you do it no matter how many years you’ve been practicing the ritual.
Waxing and Pain:
The reason for such pain concerning the process of waxing as an alternative is the embedded hair follicle being pulled from its roots. Have you ever had a single hair pulled? Can you feel the pain? Well times that by the number of hairs being pulled and you get an idea of how it feels. The up side to this is it takes longer for the hair to grow back after this traumatic procedure and the hairs tend to grow back softer than if you were to shave (shaving leaves blunt ends that tend to feel thicker and stronger than a hair that is growing freshly out of its follicle).
The Actual Proceedure:
Warm strips of wax are applied to the hairy area and once applied, strips of cloth are placed on top of the wax and gently patted down as to completely stick the wax to the cloth. When the wax has cooled the cloth and wax are quickly (as fast as you can) pulled away from the skin while simultaneously uprooting (pulling out) all the hairs in that area. Sound like fun? Waxing can be a tricky process and if its not done correctly, the recipient can experience more pain and some ingrown hairs. Always get a procedure like this done by a Pro.
Waxable Body Parts:
Waxing can be done on almost any part of the body. Legs chin, under arms, bikini area, upper lip, eye brows, and your head as long as you don’t have much hair to deal with, but that’s another story. If you can take the pain its worth it. If you want to try a little bit of waxing at home, click on one of the links below and try on of the home waxing kits. Good Luck!
