Question: My little boy hates to get his hair cut and the hair stylist doesn’t like it either, what do you suggest I do?

Answer: Little boy’s hair seem to grow faster than we would like. Let’s face it; getting little boys to sit still while getting a hair cut in the salon is not the easiest thing to do, but necessary none the less.

    Let’s face it

I hate to be the one to admit this so publicly, and I don’t want to sound coy, but many stylist don’t look forward to cutting little boys hair because it requires skill, patience and creativity: I know that’s hard to hear when you’re the parent believe me, I am the proud mother of three boys and I always felt the reluctance when I would ask one of my barbers to do me the favor and help me out with one of my boys.

It’s even worse for the poor child that is petrified of the scissors and all. One thing I learned to do through my dad (the best and wisest Barber in the world) was to never mention the word CUT or the phrase “cut your hair” because most little children associate cutting or the word cut with bleeding and pain. So what I would say to them is “Let’s do your hair” or “Do you want me to help you fix your hair”? Or “Mommy wants me to make your hair better” anything but cut, trim or shave.

    Trimming boys hair between cuts

One great way to keep from having to go to the salon every four weeks is taking on the task thy self; most of the time if your child looks a little shabby it’s probably around the ears and the nape of the neck. I suggest you buy a trimmer like the one the pros use for the side burns, this is the best tool for trimming around the ears and the neck and it also can be used for bangs. The trimmer cuts pretty precisely and you don’t run the risk cutting any little ears or your fingers.

Be creative with your child when hair cut time comes around and don’t stress too much. Kids will be kids and they grow up real quick so enjoy those dreaded hair cut moments because they won’t last forever.

    Product Reviews

This is the nicest haircutting unit I have used. It works more accurately than those other vacuum units on the market, and is quieter and cleaner than other clippers. For those of you who cut your own hair, or the hair of your family members, this is a must for your home.
