- Reduce the amount of time and duration for wearing tight fitting hats and scarves.

Other alternative treatments for dandruff include proper dietary nutritional therapy, herbal therapy and relaxation therapy. If dandruff persists after the previously mentioned over the counter treatments, it may be best to consult your doctor to determine what prescription based treatments may be needed and how it should be best administered.
Dandruff is a natural condition that can almost always be controlled but it may take some repetition and a little persistence so be patient.
